IMG_1620 IMG_1531IMG_1651 IMG_1523 Excuse my short hiatus. The past couple of weeks have been stressful and quite a challenge for me to get everything together, and to sit down and churn out a bunch of things for me to say . So much has been on my mind lately. But! I am incredibly excited for this year, whatever little we have left of it, and for me to just finish up with school and begin my new projects!

For years now, I’ve been avoiding playsuits and jumpsuits, only because I thought my body shape wasn’t right for it.  Turns out all you really need is the right size to be honest. Ever since, I’ve been going a little bit crazy with the rompers. This jumpsuit I picked up at Topshop is by far my most favourite one. I can really appreciate garments that keep you looking and feeling great. I’ve had a nasty habit of slouching, be in while standing or sitting, and the jumpsuit somehow forces me to keep my back up straight. If I slouch, it would get bunch in all the wrong places.

Besides the fact that it’s pink, it’s also a really easy piece to match with anything you have in your wardrobe. For someone like myself, I usually get ready and get out of the house in a hurry. It’s nice to have something that goes so effortlessly with everything.

Ever so often, there comes a time in life where we find ourselves at a crossroads, and we just need to make a decision and figure out which direction to go towards, and what steps to achieve that. Although I might not be so close towards the end of university, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to do when I’m finished.  What do I do? Where do I go? How do I get there? There are so many questions I need to find the answers to. The unknown scares me. It always has. It’s so hard to completely let go of something that can set the tone of your life.

Perhaps I need to rediscover myself, figure out what I need, what I want. Sometimes being quiet and still can bring you back to who you are, or who you’ve become, and where you’re going next.

It’s been a while since I gravitated to one particular colour. My usual picks would usually rotate between whites and blacks, greys even. But I’ve discovered a new fixation with blue hues lately. The colour of the skies and the seas, deep blues speak in such great depths to me, while the lighter hues breathe a breath of life to an outfit. I suppose, right now, I’ll be on the hunt for cooler tones to add to my wardrobe.

I’ve gotta admit, I tend to chose what I wear based on the weather. Living in such a warm and humid place like Singapore doesn’t really leave much room for us to edit our wardrobe. The past month has been one of the hotter months of the year, and needless to say, I’ve given up on layering vests and cardigans while trying to maintain my sweat like a crazy person.

I opted for something a little more dainty and delicate than my usual tops. I was really attracted to the straps and the simple patterns. On days when I feel too lazy to put something together, something like this would be interesting enough to make a statement without being too loud.

Denim For Days

Denim’s making a come back, and its creeping back fast. Sometimes, I wonder if double denim was just a mistake made in the 80s, but I suppose when done right, it can actually turn out effortlessly chic. It’s almost the end of July and the heat has seemingly been blazing down more than ever, but I felt my skinny jeans and boots were appropriate to keep to the cooler hue of my light denim top.

It’s the last week before school starts again, and I’m trying to spend most of my time relishing my current freedom, or well, whatever that’s left of it that is. Summer break is over! I will admit though, I am pretty excited for my last year of school and the major projects coming my way.

I’ve been slowly getting back into the routine of things back home, and preoccupying myself with thinking about my future, my career path. Though I might be on summer  break at the moment, I feel so lethargic and sometimes worn out. Hopefully I’ll be able to find something more relaxing this weekend.

Exhibit x Curated Editions

IMG_6058Maybe it’s because baby pink hues are my favourites at the moment, or maybe because the collection was kept ever so beautifully minimalistic. Well, whatever it is, by the time the Exhibit x Curated Editions show ended, I found myself completely obsessed with their debut collection. I’m a real sucker for plain basics and street wear. So you would imagine how excited I was so see motorcycle vests and plain jumpsuits walking down the runway.

Though I may not be one to be seen donned with heavy accessories, the dainty street accessories from Curated Editions perfectly complimented the pieces from Exhibit. Maybe it’s time I give the world of jewellery and accessories a second chance back into my closet collection.

I simply enjoy clean and elegant silhouettes that’s so easily wearable and pieces you don’t really need to fuss over. With such a promising debut collection, I can’t wait to see what else Exhibit has in store.

Darker Side

As most of my friends would know, black is my favourite colour. It possess such a beautifully bold quality, and it matches practically everything. I particularly love black on black textures on a little black dress. My past week has been really busy going back and forth with work, shooting photos, attending AFF and back to shooting. I decided on wearing something simple and elegant to AFF this year. I fell in love with this piece that I picked up from multi label store Etikit on Kandahar street. Yet another beautiful piece to add to my collection of little black dresses.

A Sprinkle of Glitter

I was fortunate enough to be invited for day 3 of Singapore’s AFF14, showing Farah Khan and local label, Exhibit x Curated Editions.

I’ve always been obsessively attracted to glittery sequins, and Farah Khan’s glitterati ensembles were no exception. The entire collection was drenched in her gorgeous signature sequins and each piece had a unique pattern and print. As you would imagine, that could make a girl get a little overly excited. The collection was absolutely beautiful, and as my girlfriends said, I would buy and wear this entire collection if I could. My favourite piece was a mini dress embellished with ivory, orange, tan and red sequins in a very middle eastern-esque print.

I’m so very blessed to have been able to see such beautiful garments walk down the runway. Just a sprinkle of glitter never fails to excite the little girl in me.
